All I hope is that IF the stadium opens its doors to speedway again, that whoever is at the helm of the club has a bit of integrity about them - something that has been sadly lacking in most of the various promotions over the last ten years.
We were stitched up by two different men in 2007, both of which abandoned Oxford to further their own ambitions. I sincerely hope that if we re-emerge next year, considerably better judgement is exercised by the BSPA when granting the licence.
My own view is that the soon-to-be-homeless Reading promotion may move into Oxford en bloc, as there doesn't appear to be too much confidence in the promised new stadium in Reading ever being built.

....and that, my friends, is the whole bloody problem with speedway in the UK in the 21st century!
25 years ago, I walked away from the motorcycle business because it was full of motorcycle enthusiasts, and not businessmen. I walked back into it 5 years ago, because the industry is transformed, and run as a professional industry, where profit is not a dirty word. If speedway clubs in the UK were run by businessmen, who run each club TO MAKE MONEY, then the sport would thrive.
Am I being harsh? No, I'm telling the truth.
